Sometimes, some things make the headlines for the wrong reasons. Sometimes it's entertaining, but more often than not, it's something out of the ordinary, something crazy.
Nonetheless, here are 3 weirdest things that happened in the world of football recently:
At the number one spot, two friendly puppies of the Golden Retriever breed burst out onto the pitch during a match and seem to be biting something in a plastic bag.
Thankfully enough, the puppies were amicable and seem to enjoy the attention that some of the players lavished on them before being carried away by security personnel. This video is bound to capture the emotions of even non-animal lovers.
At number two, Ethiopian keeper Jemal Tessew made an impression at the Cup of Africa but for all the wrong reasons when he threw an astonishing horrific kick at Zambia striker Chisamu Lungu in an attempt to prevent the striker from charging ahead in a one-on-one situation.
Obviously, the rash tackle cost the Ethiopian keeper a red card even as both seemed to be badly hurt after the horrific foul. The poorly timed tackle has resulted in Ethiopia losing their first choice goalkeeper and is a worrying sign in a significant regional competition.
At number three, when Honduras's Carlo Costly scored, he took off his soccer boot and started dialing as if it was a mobile phone or a cell phone. One of the weirdest, and possibly unique, goal celebrations I have seen in a while after the sensation Gangnam Style craze. (You may read about Gangnam style on this blog.)
