Been getting into the Twitter craze only recently. I know it's a late and tardy entry into the already saturated Internet space but it's better late than never.
And so I realised how wonderful and simple Twitter actually is. 140 characters - that's all it takes to tweet your thoughts, that's if your thoughts are short enough to fill a text message or either way you don't have a choice though you can tweet over and over again.

Not sure if you could actually do a rant over Twitter but that probably won't work because it would count as spam. And one of the wow-factors that I discovered, yes I know... you guys probably found it first, you can actually follow your favourite celebrities and idols on Twitter and hear from them directly instead of them going through the usual boring routine of speaking through their managers or spokespersons.
So... without much delay, let me introduce to you @slimegreenplants list of celebrities to follow on Twitter...
The popular movie star from X-Men has only 391 tweets of date but has 2 million plus followers. It does not seem that the famed actor, who has also hosted the Oscars, is into Twitter though he does make an effort occasionally to update his fans.

One of the most popular and best vocal powerhouses around, Christina Aguilera is a must for music lovers who wish to hear more from the recently inducted judge of reality singing television program, The Voice. (#thevoice)
Aguilera recently released a new album, titled Lotus, to much critical praise. She recently won 'People's Choice" at the 2013 People's Choice Awards ceremony. (Click here for the full list of winners from the 39th People's Choice Awards).
Aguilera frequently uses the platform to promote her songs as well as post updates on her album's progress. Standing at nearly 4 million followers, Aguilera also frequently posts photos and videos on her Twitter account.

With an impressive following of 17 million fans, reality star and diva Kim Kardasian can be said to be a Twitter fanatic with tweets coming from her rather regularly, that is once every few hours. Complete with personal Tweets about her personal life, Kardasian uses the platform to promote materials related to her such as articles on magazines and newspapers. (She has her own page at CeleBuzz.)
To the delight of her followers and loyal fan base, Kim Kardasian teases and pleases with the occasional photo updates on Instagram and CeleBuzz where photos of her on worldwide trips and model photoshoots can be found.

4. Yoko Ono
Yoko Ono recently tweeted the photo of her husband's glasses, John Lennon, in a bid to end gun violence. The photo read "Over 1,057,000 people have been killed by guns in the USA since John Lennon was shot and killed on December 8, 1980". View the photo here

With almost 37 million followers on Twitter, teen sensation Bieber is easily one of the more popular singers today who has ridden on the social media wave (along with extensive marketing) to gain worldwide popularity.
A hit most significantly among teen girls, Bieber has hit the headlines recently, but this time for the wrong reasons. The young star was reportedly late for a concert having stayed up late the night before 'playing computer games', leaving his fans disappointed.
He later appeared in the papers again after clashing with paparazzi. with a foul-mouthed tirade. Is he heading towards a burn-out in the way a young Britney Spears did or is he just a teenager exploring his boundaries?
Nonetheless, the rising star, who was formerly the boyfriend of fellow youth celebrity Selena Gomez, is set to keep his critics at bay as his team seeks to grow the potential in him. (Watch videos of Justin Bieber on his world tour as well as behind the scenes on his Youtube channel)

Pink has been on the music scene for some time now and so it comes with no surprise that Pink continues to produce commercial hits such as the recently released tracks of Try and Just Give Me a Reason (with Nate Ruess from FUN).

I was surprised to see the insanely popular comedian, who has sold out his stand-up comedy shows, has only almost 2 million followers on Twitter. That number is already impressive on its hold but I would have expected Chris Rock to have garnered more followers given his extensive roles in movies and animated films, most notably in the Shrek series.
